I earned a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2015, following the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Winston-Salem State University in 2009. I am a National Certified Counselor and hold licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS).
My professional career commenced in 2008 as a residential counselor within a behavioral health agency serving youth and adolescents. Over the subsequent six years, I cultivated extensive experience addressing the behavioral health needs of children. Subsequently, I was appointed as the LCMHCS Team Lead for Community Support Services at an agency providing comprehensive support to both children and adults diagnosed with mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorders.
With over ten years of experience in adult mental health care, I have developed expertise in delivering recovery-oriented services and supports, particularly in the domains of employment, education, and wellness for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. In addition to clinical practice, I fulfill the role of Clinical Supervisor, providing professional supervision and mentorship to clinicians holding Associate Licenses.
